Black Cockatoo在澳洲當地人心目中有著特殊意義. 如果在野外見到它,都是極其幸運的事. 黑鳳頭鸚鵡有著「至高的力量」, 「自信沉著」, 與「快樂 」的靈性意義.
在澳洲原住民中還有著這樣的說法 – 黑鸚鵡代表大靈的引導 - 強壯自身的靈魂與精神.

Black cockatoo stands for the energy of empowerment, happiness and contentment. The power of spirit comes into our life, a strengthening of our spirit and soul.
.
As many of you may know I don’t paint birds often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection.
From where I live in Bayswater, there is a big field of open woodland near my studio.
The grassland has always been my favourite playground. I am often accompanied by various local birds such as cockatoos, magpies, rosellas and so on. They make a great company; they are my special friends.
Which also inspired me to paint this small artwork in a series. Like a yearbook, featuring all our friends, carrying all kinds of memories.
Each bird has a different appearance and different personality, and each one of them might remind you of that specific, special friend of yours. That person might be pretty, fun or even weird in a good way, and you love him/ her no matter what.
This artwork reminds me of those who care about us when we are apart and people who stay by our side always.
