Between you and me, between you and him, between him and her—

we humans are social creatures, constantly gathering, constantly speaking,

each word an attempt to let others understand who we are.

And yet we can never fully grasp another person.

It is as if a blurred pane of glass stands between us—

so clear, almost transparent,

and still I can never truly see through it.
