玉山，是台灣大地最莊嚴的存在，也是孕育萬物的生命源頭。我選擇描繪晨光初現的時刻，當第一道光穿越雲霧，山巒在虛實交錯間緩緩浮現，展現歷經歲月淬鍊仍沉靜堅定的力量。
畫面以低彩度灰藍色調鋪陳高山清冷而遼闊的空氣感，運用層層堆疊的筆觸描繪霧氣、岩壁與光影流動，使山體在光與霧之間形成豐富的空間層次。前景加入玉山圓柏、箭竹、杜鵑與岩石等高山意象，象徵生命在嚴峻環境中依然堅韌生長，也映照自然萬物彼此依存的關係。
〈玉山．初光〉描繪的不只是日出的瞬間，更希望傳達對土地的敬意，以及對自然永續的期盼。當晨光灑落山巔，也照亮人與山林共生的初心，提醒我們珍惜這片土地，讓世代都能看見玉山最純粹、最動人的風景。
Yushan, the highest peak in Taiwan, stands as a majestic symbol of the land and a source of life that nurtures all living things. In this work, I chose to depict the quiet moment when the first light of dawn breaks through the mist. As sunlight filters across the clouds, the mountain gradually emerges between clarity and obscurity, revealing a timeless strength shaped by the passage of nature and time.
A restrained palette of cool grays and muted blues creates the crisp, expansive atmosphere of the alpine landscape. Layered brushstrokes describe drifting mist, weathered rock faces, and shifting light, allowing the mountain to recede and reappear within the changing air. In the foreground, native alpine elements, including Yushan juniper, dwarf bamboo, rhododendrons, and rocky terrain, symbolize the resilience of life in a harsh environment while reflecting the interdependence of all living ecosystems.
Yushan: First Light is more than a depiction of sunrise. It is an expression of reverence for the land and a hope for environmental sustainability. As the morning light touches the summit, it also illuminates our shared commitment to living in harmony with nature, reminding us to cherish this landscape so that future generations may continue to witness the pure and enduring beauty of Yushan.
